Lara Kraemer

Hi!

I’m Lara, motion designer and director based in Berlin.

I grew up in the German countryside and moved to Berlin in 2014 to study film & motion design at BTK Berlin.

After I finished my B.A. in 2018, I started working as a media producer for the production company Drive beta, whose clients are funk and arte among others. My main tasks included motion design work, editing and organisation of the post production department.

In 2020 I became self-employed and have since been working as a motion designer, director and 1st AD.

In 2021 I made my directorial debut with the short film “not funny”, which premiered at the Zeitimpuls Shortfilm Festival.

I like to work with surrealistic motifs, bold images and offbeat humor. I also have a great passion for analogue animation techniques and experience in 2D digital animation as well as hand drawn and stop-motion animation.

Additionally, as women are still underrepresented in senior creative positions in our industry, I'm always particularly excited to be part of projects that focus on the female gaze and interesting female protagonists or explore feminist issues.
